Ashland Contemporary Theatre is thrilled to present a premiere performance event by Jesai Jayhmes. For over 30 years, Jesai has presented a one-man version of “Macbeth” around the world: Europe, U.S., Canada, China. He has also been developing a solo show of “The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam” for many years. Now these two works come together in “Sacred and Profane,” especially devised for ACT at the Ashland Community Center.
You may have seen Jesai play Neil, in ACT’s “The Quality of Life” last December. An American graduate of the esteemed Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Jesai’s talent ranks with the excellence of British actors having been nurtured by the same rigorous training. Master classes in theatrical techniques from around the world have further enriched his repertoire. “Sacred & Profane” employs a unique blend of styles that compel the audience to feel through the psyches of Khayyam and Macbeth—it becomes an internal experience.
Experience theatre like you’ve not seen it before in the Rogue Valley, as a transformational journey through two of literature’s most haunting and inspiring texts.
Performances are Saturday May 2nd at 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday May 3rd at 8pm
Tickets are $15 in advance: Paddington Station, Grocery Outlet or online. $20 at the door.
