Moonlighting 2015: A Change is Coming . . . Readings of Short Plays by Local Playwrights

Moonlighting2

July 17 at 2pm, July 18 at 8pm, July 19 at 2pm and 8pm

Ashland Contemporary Theatre celebrates its Silver Jubilee throughout the year as we launch our 25th Anniversary Season with a new crop of fresh plays from local playwrights.

It’s a night of comedy and drama, monologues and serious plays, history and contemporary life, all with the common theme about how we make big changes happen, and our reactions to that.  We’re calling it:  “Moonlighting 2015: A Change is Coming . . . ”  with monologues by John Richardson (“The Chess Lesson”), and Jeannine Grizzard (“An Anti-Suffrage Appeal”), and short plays by Phil Loveless (“No Women Allowed”), Julia Sommer (“Brothers”), Ruth Wire (“The Ferry of Relativity”) and John Yunker (“The Sales Rank”).

Authors Ruth Wire, Julia Sommer, Phil Loveless, and Jeannine Grizzard have had other work presented in past seasons.  And we welcome new writers to our family: John Richardson, John Yunker and Warren Carlson (who was an ANPF featured playwright in their inaugural year).  The plays are directed by Jeannine Grizzard, Karen Douglas, and Moonlighting veteran director, Will Churchill.

Performances are Friday, July 17, 2 pm at Grizzly Peak Winery, (1600 E. Nevada St., Ashland).  This is a Friday matinee.

Saturday, July 18 at 8pm and Sunday July 19 at 2pm and 8pm at Ashland Community Center, (59 Winburn Way, Ashland).

All tickets will be sold at the door for $12 or through our website.  Visit our online Box Office for tickets.
