Moonlighting 2018: Home for the Holidays

Hard on the heels of the most successful production in ACT’s 28 year history (“Walter Cronkite Is Dead”), Ashland Contemporary Theatre proudly presents our annual festival of short plays by local writers, this year with a holiday theme. “Moonlighting 2018: Home for the Holidays” takes a poignant, humorous and even outrageous look at family and amorous relationships. For these readings the featured plays are: “Sitcom” by Mark Saunders, a verbal tango on New Year’s Eve; “Departure” by Cynthia Rogan, a promise of joy turns on a hard choice; “The Cabin” by Diane Nichols, has surprise encounters; “To Home” by Stan Mazor, where a car’s GPS spills the beans; “The Familial” by Archie Koenig, explores the deep need for familial love; “Best Friends” by Darlene Ensor dives into love, sex and chocolate cake, and “That Other Thing” by David Copelin takes on age gap romance with banana cream pie.

The “Home for the Holidays” collection of plays are directed by Teresa Peterson, Jeannine Grizzard, and Karen Douglas.  Actors are: Sharon Becker, Bob Brazeau, Cory Davison, Krista Hepford, Patty Herkert, Samantha Holden, Todd Lowenberg, Jeff Ripley, and Jeannine Grizzard.
